Homily

Ascension. Poor disciples. They had abandoned Jesus, seen him die on the cross, been terrified that they would be crucified as well, then, unbelievably, been met by him in unpredictable places at unpredictable times. It had been an emotional roller-coaster. And now they had been given an incomprehensible challenge then abandoned as he disappeared into the cloud.
