The Feast of Pesach/Passover

Passover is one of the most important of the Jewish feasts, based on a founding myth of the Jewish nation - Moses leading his people out of slavery into freedom.    For Christians the Last Supper was a Passover meal.  John’s Gospel ties Jesus’ crucifixion to the time of the slaughter of the Passover lambs in the Temple, thus explaining the metaphor: Jesus is the Lamb of God.
